Reading and writing controls - how does Eon mode on HDFS's approach compare to Eon mode on S3?

Does Eon mode on HDFS have the same concurrent reading and writing control approach on communal storage as Eon mode on S3?

    Eon mode on HDFS should behave similarly with respect to concurrency for the most part, though there are some differences in maximal bounds on number of concurrent operations.
