Ancient rdkafka version upgrade possibilities?

As stated here in the docs, Vertica uses rdkafka version 0.11.6 which was released back in the 2018's (current is 2.5.3).

Is there any possibility for us to use a more recent version?
Namely >= v1.1.0 (2019), which introduced SASL OAUTHBEARER authentication.

    Engineering team is currently working on upgrading librdkafka. It should be upgraded in 24.4 mostly. with regards to SASL OATH, it is not supported it. I will add a comment in the JIRA.

    24.4 has been released and librdkafka has been upgraded in 24.4. Please upgrade your cluster to use new librdkafka version.
