create database on new port

How do I create a database using a port other than default port 5433. admintools create_db command doesn't provide option to specify the port number .

Hi Kumaran, thanks for your question! We'll see if others in the community have set their databse to a port other than the default.

One option is create db on default port 5433, stop the db, modify port value in /opt/vertica/config/admintools.conf file manually in each node and restart the db via admintools. See if this helps.

Yes we can change the database port to whatever port you want to use even after creating a database. There are some files that needs to configured for it in every node of a cluster.
