Vertica Crash

I have ldap auth configured. Whenever I try to authenticate vertica crashes on that node: 2013-06-26 15:05:01.591 Init Session:0x7fb29000e9c0 @v_apevents_node0001: 00000/4686: sendAuthRequest: user=a-admin database=ents host=10.15.67.134 authType=3 2013-06-26 15:05:01.646 Init Session:0x7fb29000e9c0 [Main] Handling signal: 11 2013-06-26 15:05:01.709 Init Session:0x7fb29000e9c0 [Main] Received fatal signal SIGSEGV. 2013-06-26 15:05:01.709 Init Session:0x7fb29000e9c0 [Main] Info: si_code: 1, si_pid: 0, si_uid: 0, si_addr: (nil) 2013-06-26 15:05:01.711 Init Session:0x7fb29000e9c0 @v_apevents_node0001: 01000/5439: Vertica suggests allowing 1 open file per MB of memory, minimum of 65536; see 'ulimit -n' ----------- But local users work fine.

  • Hi Mohit, Hm... Any Vertica crash is something we take seriously. Are you an enterprise user? If so, please do open a support case; they have the right tools to track down the issue. I know it is possible to use LDAP without getting a crash, though. So I'm guessing that the root cause is something that's not quite right with your configuration. I'm not all that familiar with LDAP personally, but others here might be. If you posted more information about your config, they might have some thoughts. Adam
  • Here is my ldap config: ClientAuthentication = host a-admin 10.0.0.0/8 ldap "ldap://lvsd.ing.net/search;basedn=dc=ing,dc=net"
