Validating Presense of Vertica ERROR 10 vertica rpm is installed

Trying to create a cluster, ran the Validate Host cannot get past second step Validating Presence of Veritica [sic]. The error says "Error: Test: validationg vertica rpm installation : ERROR 10: vertica rpm is installed. This is from the .ovf install downloaded from my.vertica.com 6.1.2. I am unable to proceed in adding nodes to the cluster. Please assist.

    Hi Chad - The management console is expecting that the system is 'clean' - any prior installation of the vertica rpm will result in this error.   If you attempting to upgrade a previous install, please follow the upgrade instructions in the documentation.
