Send Email Alerts using Management Console
Hi,
I do not see a provision to send any email alerts in the Management console if there is something that goes wrong at the database.
How do we provision for it?
Thanks
Saumya

At this version of the MC console there is not an functionality to sent alert emails.
Many customers use a SNMP server to sent the alert email. You can set up Vertica to SNMP traps to that server on issues such us, Lost of k-safe, node down, ros pushback etc.
Hope this helps,

The provision would be through SNMP and a trap receiver.
Any of the following listed tools can be setup to provide reporting on an SNMP trap:
https://my.vertica.com/docs/7.0.x/HTML/index.htm#Authoring/AdministratorsGuide/Monitoring/Vertica/ConfiguringReportingForSNMP.htm%3FTocPath%3DAdministrator%27s%20Guide|Monitoring%20HP%20Vertica|Monitoring%20Events|Configuring%20Event%20Reporting|_____2
E-mail can be configured in the trap receiver (Network Management tool).
Hi,
I did not find where to enable an SMTP server on the console MC (version 7.2.1)
Vertical documentation describes how to enable it in the Settings tab MC Mail Gateway on the page. However the console MC does not show the Tab Email Gateway.
Please someone could help me?
Thanks,
Cristina Villadangos.
Hi Cristina,
The Email Gateway feature is available in MC for version 7.2.2, which you should now be available for download.
