Any idea why vertica log rotate states 52 weekly for retention, but actually performs a 52-daily ? 52 daily sounds a bit low for retention.
I am confident i could just increase the 52 to a higher number, but i am more curious of why the specified weekly behaves differently. Also daily rotation for large log files sounds appropriate, not sure why it was designed as weekly in the /opt/vertica/config/logrotate folder.
