Can Distributed R be used for "live analysis?" — Vertica Forum

Can Distributed R be used for "live analysis?"

Can Distributed R be used for "live analysis?" In other words, can data flow in to this application and provide output that would allow an analyst or other personnel to make actionable decisions in real time?

  • Hello Thomas,

Depending upon the kind of analysis and time requirements, you can use Distributed R for live analysis. For example, Distributed R can be part of a workflow, where it picks up new data, runs algorithms (e.g., regression, clustering, etc). and put the output in Vertica or other stores for actionable decisions. If you need your answers back quickly, you have the choice to scale out and use more cores and memory to run Distributed R.

We will be happy to help, if you share with us your exact use case.

    Thanks,

    Indrajit
