installed MC on SuSE 11 dev VM, mc up try to import vertica database getting error – could not get hosts from cluster : Access denied – request too old. Verify the management console system date matches the vertica cluster date

    It necessary that the system clock on the host/vm for the MC matches the system clocks on the vertica cluster as well.  This is one layer of security used so that the agent processes on the vertica cluster can ensure the request is coming from a valid vertica MC server and not a replay attack.    Make sure that your system clocks are at least close using ntp.

     added 10.17.0.10 and 10.17.0.11 (our DNS servers) to /etc/ntp.conf and made sure both systems did an initial time sync. I believe that they are time-synced now.

    now mc is working and able to add the cluster to mc
