How to skip the last N lines in a COPY in Vertica 6.1.2 — Vertica Forum

How to skip the last N lines in a COPY in Vertica 6.1.2

Hi - I know how to SKIP the first X lines in Vertica using the COPY statement, but is there a way to determine how to skip the LAST 1-2 lines? The last 1-2 lines (depending on the file) in my data file represent the timestamp of the file generation.

If the COPY command cannot do it -- I'll have to do it programatically which is fine -- but I'm wondering if the COPY command has the ability to ignore "footer" data.

Thanks!
