How to capture remote client hostname in sessions table when using F5 load balancer? — Vertica Forum

How to capture remote client hostname in sessions table when using F5 load balancer?

Hello all,

We are using Big IP F5 LTM to load balance traffic across our Vertica nodes. One issue we are facing is that when we use connect to Vertica database through load balancer, the client_hostname in sessions table is stored with IP of the load balancer virtual server, instead of IP of the remote client machine which initiated the session.

What could be the best way to get the remote client IP, instead of load balancer IP?

Thanks,
Rupendra
