In the Administrator's guide on "Using the Management Console to Replace Nodes section",

When you highlight a node and click Replace, MC provides a list of possible STANDBY nodes to use as a replacement. After you select the replacement node, the process begins. A node replacement could be a long-running task.

How take long can I expect to replace a node? Customer environment is CS300 for vertica, with 8 active nodes, 1 standby node.

The amount of time would depend on a number of factors, one of which would be the amount of data the replace node would have to have copied to it.
