standard r package alongside vertica r package

Is it possible to have the standard R package installed on the same host as vertica with the R language pack? If so, what would it take?

    You can install the standard R package on the same host as vertica. The only thing that you need to take care of is that the R that you install should not be on the $PATH. The command 'which R' should not give you an R installation. You can achieve this by specifying a location other than /usr/bin while installing R.
