vmware migrations cause vertica to exit

Our VM management team frequently migrates Vertica nodes as part of their effort to balance load (vSphere). Our Vertica DB team only notices when Vertica exits on a migrated node. We don't know if Vertica always exits when a node is migrated, just that it can.

Can you recommend strategies for defending against VM migrations?
