Storage location on AWS S3.

Has any found or created a configuration where storage location can be created on AWS S3?  I'd like to look into storing ROS on S3 much like storing ROS on HDFS is supported. 

 

There was some talk about this at the 2014 Vertica Conference in Boston, but I haven't heard anything about it since.

    Correct.  Currently Vertica will not keep live ROS data in S3.

    Any update on this?  It seems like every open source system can treat AWS S3 just like HDFS.  Why is HPE Vertica lagging so far behind the rest of the big data communitity on supporting S3 as HDFS alternative?
