VMware supported for deployment?
Hello,
The Vertica 7.0 used to mention that :HP Vertica virtual machines are not supported in a production environment. The VMs are provided for evaluation purposes
The Vertica 7.1 no longer has this remark.
Does this means that Vertica 7.1 is fully supported in a virtualized environment even in production ?
If yes, is there a reference configuration described somewhere, mentionning a number of hosts, type of storage, .."
Thanks for helping

We do now support running vertica in a virtualized enviornment subject to the following support policy

Hi,
Thanks for answering.
I already read this article, but it just gives configuration constraints, it does not describe a real configuration in terms of Nb and type of Vmware hosts, type of storage, ..
Since Vertica has tested this configuration, as said in this article, could'nt you share the detailed description of your test environment ?
There are many combinations of hardware, storage, HyperVisor, Kernel version, workloads and usecases etc and its probably not possible to enumerate or test all these possibilities. Configuration of the HyperVisor is a large subject in itself.
Furthermore, specifying one configuration may be interpreted as precluding another configuration which probably not the intent.
We do descibe some aspects of the configuration here, which you might find useful
