Hi ,

 

How can I rename the Database name in vertica 7.0.

 

I have created a DB (3 nodes cluster) named vertica and want to change it to pmdb.

    Hi 

     

    Just to let you know there is no documented process as of yet around renaming a database.Since its a trivial proceess so it comes along with some risk as the catalog needs to be altered Also as the database name is included in the various paths on each node so this requires updating several fields in the catalog(in addition to renaming directories on all nodes and a couple of files that would be hand-edited).

     

    Only option left is to go ahead & drop this database & rebuilt a new one.
