Strange directory structure in vertica-client-7.2.1
Hello,
we upgraded our database to the latest version 7.2.1 and everything went smooth. After upgrading client packages we noticed a strange directory structure in vertica-client-7.2.1:
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/Python
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/Python/hp-vertica-client-7.2.1.0-cp27-none-linux_x86_64.whl
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/bin
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/bin/vsql
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/bin/vsql32
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/en-US
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/en-US/ODBCMessages.xml
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/en-US/VerticaMessages.xml
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/include
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/include/verticaodbc.h
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/java
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/java/vertica-javadoc.jar
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/java/vertica-jdbc-7.2.1_20151116.jar
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/lib
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/lib/libverticaodbc.so
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/lib64
/opt/vertica/opt/vertica/lib64/libverticaodbc.so
Our apps started complaining becuase of a missing /opt/vertica/lib64/libverticaodbc.so so we had to hack a symlink solution.
Previous packages did not have "double" /opt/vertica directories. Is this a bug or is there an actual reason for such structure?
Thanks in advance,
emir
