Unexpected EOF on socket error when creating a HCatalog schema (Cloudera Docker VM)

I want to use Vertica  7.2.2.1 community edition with the HCatalog connector to a Cloudera Docker VM).

(HDFS Connector is working correctlz)

 

I copied all jar files with the help of the hcatUtil utility and vertified that all jar files  were correctlz installed under  ...hcat/lib

 

Then I wanted to create a HCATALOG SCHEMA

 

CREATE HCATALOG SCHEMA IF NOT EXISTS  hcat WITH HOSTNAME='quickstart.cloudera' WEBSERVICE_HOSTNAME='quickstart.cloudera'  WEBSERVICE_PORT=32976  HCATALOG_SCHEMA='default'

 

But I got fowlling error:

[Vertica Analytic Database]
ErrorCode: -2147467259, NativeError: 0, ColumnNumber: -2, RowNumber: -2
ErrorMessage: [0] Network error: System.IO.IOException: Unexpected EOF on socket
   at Vertica.Data.Internal.IO.VStream.ReceiveChar()
   at Vertica.Data.Internal.IO.ProtocolStream.ReadMessage()

 

After that the database is not available anymore - has to be started by the adminTools.

 

Any help appreciated.
