Materialized flex table vs Vertica general columnar table

In term of query performance, is a materialized flex table equivalent to a general Vertica columnar table (with the same columns and contents, except that the materialized flex table has two extra columns "__identity__" and "__raw__")?

Yes, performance is the same between flex table and columnar table that have the same schema and projections.
