upgrading redhat version
Is there a way to arrange or save data so that it might be preserved after an upgrade of Redhat versions?
Can I save the contents of certain directories (e.g. /opt/vertica /home/dbadmin) so that when I restore them after a Rehat Version upgrade, the database will function?
I have seen this: https://my.vertica.com/docs/7.2.x/HTML/Content/Authoring/InstallationGuide/rhel7centos7migration.htm
But this assumes we have the server and rackspace requirements to build a second cluster.

2 main things you want to save is catalog and data on each node.
All other things can be re-generated by install.
I would recommend to look in to "Backing Up and Restoring the Database"
