Need to know how to take a back up on single server

Hi Team,

 

I installed and running vertica on single server. I am planning to take a backup, i followed the document provided by the HP. 

 

But here i am using only one server, is there any way to take bakup with out creating password less ssh, if so pls let me know the procedure.
