Hadoop vertica connector

Well I am  in a situation where i need to fetch data from HDFS and load into Vertica using vertica provided Hadoop connector.

But the example given in the pdf is messy because it includes data load from vertica and load into vertica.

i am not very much familiar with Hadoop architecture.

can I get help from some one. I could share the exact error if some one volumteer

I explored information in the vertica site but the examples provided are incomplete . I am unable to proceed thereafter.
