I have a scenario in which depending upon some condtions

if it matches then it should not do any changes and if it is not matching the condition then it should insert the record.

I have found merge command in vertica.But here i am facing the issue with autoincrement column.

What is the workarounf for this in vertica

and can i use "where" condition in merge condition.

If yes means how will be the synatx to use "Where" condition with merge command.

Is there any other command which can be best fit in this situation other than merge.
