How to connect to vertica through VMWARE

I have downloaed the virtual machine and configured but oncei started, it not connet to vertica database can you please help me with this.

    can please share the vertica 7.2 client version (database) Link. I would like to download the vertica database.

    Only latest vertica versions will be available on website for download. Latest version is vertica 8.0. If you want an earlier version of vertica, if you have valid enterprise account with HPE, please contact HPE via support portal in order to get it

    after i install vertica on vmware, how do i get main menu.
