Getting "Unauthorized Access: Database Designer ... requires DBDUSER role" error after node removal

We're getting the "Database Designer functionality requires the database user have the DBDUSER role" error, in the Management Console when accessing DB Designer, after removing a node from the cluster.  We're logging into the MC using an admin user (THIS HASN'T CHANGED) and the user has had the DBDUSER role granted since day 1.  

 

However, after removing a node from the cluster, we suddenly started getting this error.

 

[dbadmin@681380-db-srv4 ~]$ rpm -qa | grep vert
vertica-console-7.2.1-0.x86_64
vertica-7.2.1-0.x86_64

 

Any help would be much appreciated...
