What are main differnces for a development team between vertica 7 and 8. Will vertica sql created for 7 run as is on vertica 8 .Any changes in datatype , udx .

    yes . Vertica 8 is backward compatible with Vertica 7. There are more features and product improvements in Vertica 8. To answer your question, yes vertica sql created for 7 will run as is on vertica 8
