How to improve Rebalance_cluster() performance

Hi All,

During our Vertica cluster expansion, we see that the Rebalance_cluster() operation takes un-calculated time and i guess, you might also have experienced the same.

Is there any method or temporary settings in vertica to improve rebalance operation ?

In my setup, we have a 3-node cluster and trying to add 1 more cluster. There are segmented projection where small projections was very quickly rebalanced but big projections are problematic.

when i try to rebalance a projection of 400GB, it is giving us speed of 20% seperation_percentage per hour and overall task takes about 6 hours. Any method to pump-up this operation to save time?

the rebalance improved A LOT in 8.0.1-2. What vertica version are you using? if it is older version I would recommend to update before doing the rebalance.
