Client drivers 8.1 installation hangs on windows server 2016

Hi

any hint about how troubleshooting the client drivers' installation? it hangs and I cannot find any log/trace to troubleshoot the reason...

What version of .net is installed? Fyi ... I was at a client site with a colleague and we had to install .net 4.0 to get the Vertica 8.1.x client installer to run on SQL Server 2016, otherwise the installer would hang.

we have .NET 4.6, bundled with Windows Server 2016 Standard and we've found the following logs under the user temp dir:

FYI: "Vertica support claims it could support 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5, not 4.6. The Vertica client installer hangs with 4.6."
