adminTools privilages

Hello Everyone,

Is there a way to allow other linux user to execute admintools? I'm currently setting up monitoring of our vertica databases via a tool called Icinga and is having issue because the user icinga is not allowed to run admintools

Active DB: User icinga is not allowed to run adminTools. To enable access run install_vertica

  • Hi!

    You cannot without source code modification.

    $ adminTools
    admintools cannot be run with the current system state.
    Please address the following concerns and try again.
    daniel is not the owner of /opt/vertica/config/admintools.conf. admintools may only be run by the owner of /opt/vertica/config/admintools.conf (who is the database administrator).

    You can modify /opt/vertica/share/eggs/vertica/engine/adminExec.py file and it will work(I can explain what you need to do, but I do not recommend do it) but ON YOUR OWN RISK.
