Downloading the Community Edition Installation RPM
The myvertica link : https://my.vertica.com/download/vertica/community-edition/
Shows this link: "Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7"
But the file download only indicates RHEL6?
vertica-8.1.1-0.x86_64.RHEL6.rpm
Am I to assume that file works for both RHEL6 and RHEL7?
If so, how about you remove the "RHEL6"?

Yes, the vertica-8.1.1-0.x86_64.RHEL6.rpm package can be installed on RHEL7. If it'll help you feel more comfortable, run this command after downloading:
mv vertica-8.1.1-0.x86_64.RHEL6.rpm vertica-8.1.1-0.x86_64.RHEL6and7.rpm
Thanks Jim, just making sure there wasn't a RHEL7 version I was missing.
how can i download vertica-8.1.1-0.x86_64.RHEL6.rpm directly in linux server.
unable to get it through wget
Hi, Vertica 8.1.x CE is no longer available for download as Vertica 9.0 has replaced it. You can still grab the Community Edition 8.1.1 Virtual Machine.
Is there a particular reason why you'd want 8.1.1-0? 9.0 has a lot of cool features to play around with
See:

We need to upgrade from 8.0.X to 9.0.1 so we need the 8.1.X rpm to upgrade... where can we download it?
@cverdes - You can't download the 8.1.x RPM for Vertica CE. Only the latest version (9.1.0) is available from the web site.
Are you working with a sales rep from Vertica? If so, I can reach out to them to figure out how to help you get upgraded.
