AWS Test Drive(Predictive Maintenance)

Is there anyone that experience vertica test drive on AWS(HPE Vertica Predictive Maintenance Testing) ?
I can't understand that use randomly created IOT data as test data for logistic regression model.
Can anyone explain to me?

    This is a used case of manufacturing company that sells and monitor equipment consists of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components. They would like to predict the probability that any component might fail. So, we required a binary predictive outcome which would give score between 0 and 1. The value close to 1 means that the component is very likely to fail. Therefore, we choose Vertica Logistic Regression instead of others that could be used.
