database not showing in management console

Hi All,

i am trying to test the vertica setup as per our organization requirement , we have installed the vertica server and vertica MC on single host (single ip) , i have created a database from admintools but not reflecting on vertica mc and even localhost cluster also not showing in vertica MC .it is asking to create a new cluster .
i am new on this platform so please guide us to setup these things

Hi,

You have to import an existing database into MC. It's very easy to do so.

thanks for replying JIm ... first i clear that we are not able yo import cluster so how we can craete a database from vertica mc . we tried to import cluster with IP address and API key. there is showing host 0 and cluster name empty ... and the same process applied for another cluser which have imported successfully but tried to create database from vertica mc it is throwing error "list index out of range" . can you help me out please ?

Which version of Vertica and MC are you using? Note that encountering an "index out of range" error in MC indicates you hit a bug. I would recommend opening a support case for the issue.
