Gauging required maintenance window for upgrade

Hi all,

I'm hoping to upgrade 7.2.3 to 8.1.1 via 8.0.1.
There's ~16TB with ksafety=1 spread over 5 nodes.
In the lab, with a much smaller volume of data, there is a notable delay during the catalog update section of the post upgrade script.

I realise that there's a how long is a piece of string element to the question, but has anyone got a means of approximating the time this should take, in a perfect world with a dedicated switch and 10G NICs for the private LAN?
