Does STV_Intersect Operation takes all POINTS that are INSIDE a POLYGON?

I want to perform a GIS Points in Polygon Operation.

Does STV_Intersect takes all Points INSIDE a Polygon?

Or just the Points that crosses/intersects the Polygon?
