Need to add more storage to Vertica db

Hi I have vertica installed in micrfocus obr server and existing disk has been full. I want add more storage to this. I have create one more partition and want to change vertica location. My query is I have historical data in db will it be safe and I can fetch in reports. Kindly confirm so that I can add the storage to it.
