Vertica 32bit odbc client on Linux

Hi Vertica Users,

Would like to ask for assistance regarding the Vertica 32bit client driver. We are connecting our Cognos Linux server to the Vertica database as data source.

As of now 64bit client can connect but 32bit client is not able to connect. Cognos only supports 32bit odbc client for Vertica. Would like to know why my 32bit client is not able to connect.

Hello Ervin,
Please can you let us know what error message you are getting while connecting to Vertica using ODBC. Is it possible to provide the information on the Version that you are using for Cognos and Vertica (and the Vertica client driver version too).

Based on the IBM Cognos, they are encouraging customer to use JDBC connectivity instead of ODBC. In that regard we have published connectivity document. Here is the link.
