passwordless ssh for root — Vertica Forum

passwordless ssh for root

LievenLieven Vertica Customer

dear,
When installing CA performance center (Vertica server), our Linux Team refuses to give root for passwordless ssh.
Is there a workaround to this issue? Several forum entries suggest using DBADMIN instead of root. Is this supported by Vertica?
Kind regards,

Superuser access is only needed to install the RPM on all nodes using install_vertica script. It is possible to use any account with sudo privilege. A workaround is to create a user with passwordless ssh, grant sudo privilege on all nodes, install Vertica, then revoke sudo privilege.
