vertica-ce init script ?.

Hello,

vertica's init.d script (/etc/init.d/verticad) is using rpm -q vertica to find out if vertica is installed, which does not work for community edition, because the rpm package is called vertica-ce .

What error you see when you run the below command.
sudo /etc/init.d/verticad status
