Loading XML files into Vertica

Hello forum,

for a POC we need to load 2 mio XML files into Vertica flex tables.
What is the best way to do this please?

Should we try to convert the XML to JSON on the Linux shell level and then load the data to Flex tables?

I found some discussions on the topic but no recent ones.
Can you please advise on the available approaches.
