when will v_monitor.execution_engine_profiles be populated?

Per the document, it said when we profile a sql, it will populate this table. But from our system, we have many sql which are not profiled, this table is also populated for them. I am wondering whether this kind of populated data when no profile is partial in comparison when doing profile. Or the only difference between profile and non-profile is to print out the mem usage message?

    it will populate even when the query is not profiled as long as the execution time of query crosses value set for SaveDCEEProfileThresholdUS
