Docs for Serverless compute for external tables

Hi,

Vertica 24.2 release notes mention new feature - Serverless compute for external tables.

I looks through Vertica docs 24.2, had hard time to find it.

Would you mind sharing link to docs where this feature is described?

Thank you
Sergey

Could you please share me the new feature release notes you are referring to

  • Hi Sruthi,

This was in last Friday daily email from OpenTEXT:

    Product: Vertica Analytics Platform
    Title: Opentext Vertica 24.2
    Document Type: Product Lifecycle
    SubscriptionID: a7R8e0000004D2ZEAU

If you will open this document - 24.2 announcement - you will see one as one of new features:

    Serverless compute for external tables.

Unclustered compute nodes can be spun up to do analysis as needed on any data, including external lake data.
Spin up nodes as needed for analysis of any data, internal format or data lake format.

Other thing that I am interested:

    Multiple performance enhancements.

Tools for evaluating query efficiency, including query profiling in VerticaPy to profile and improve database performance without leaving the comfortable notebook interface.

VerticaPy is an open source, I will try to find docs on github.

    Thank you
    Sergey
