Error afer 6/12/2025 AWS S3 meltdown: You are trying to access your S3 bucket using the wrong region

After today AWS / GCP / Azure outage, this still this issue in Vertica:
QL Error [8912] [VX001]: [Vertica]VJDBC ERROR: FileColumnReader: unable to open position index [s3://vertica-arrvlst-us-east-1-a4db/a4db/8c3/02340013438e96329d286ed9d233a44000f000009320153d_0.gt]: You are trying to access your S3 bucket using the wrong region. If you are using S3 file system please set 'AWSRegion' knob to the region of your bucket.

Has anybody seen this error and has tips how to resolve it?

    Where is your s3 bucket and what is AWSRegion set to?
