Is there any function similar to pg_sleep in Vertia ?

  • Vertica has the ususal sql "sleep(3)", which takes only integers, unlike pg_sleep which allows float arguments. In vsql you might get slightly more resolution with: \! sleep 3.5 though the shell escape itself takes some amount of time, so there's a bit less accuracy. The shell escape has the advantage of additional forms like \! sleep 2.7 m for 2.7 minutes.
  • Hi Navin, Does 'sleep()' do what you want? https://my.vertica.com/docs/6.1.x/HTML/index.htm#18273.htm Adam
