Vertica 5.1 - Cannot assign requested address

Hello, We're running vertica v5.1.0-0 on CentOS release 6.3 (2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64) . We're getting "Error connecting pt-pt socket for send: Cannot assign requested address" once in a while. I understand that this is a known issue in our setup (https://community.vertica.com/vertica/topics/error_connecting_pt_pt_socket_for_send). Can you confirm that we will not get these errors on older version Linux machines (Red Hat 5.7 2.6.18-274.17.1.el5) . Is there a workaround or configuration parameter that we can set to overcome this error? Thanks, Ayelet

Hi Ayeetl, Yes, there certain Linux Version that produce this connection issue. Because many customers can not easily update their Operating System we change our code to avoid this error. Please check the release notes for details but instead to update the operating system you could update your Vertica Version. For version 5.1, the patch set that include this fix is 5.1.6-3. In the website you will be able to find the latest release. Hope this helps, Eugenia
