  • Hi ,

Could you please check if the "sudo" package installed?

    "rpm -qa | grep sudo"

(The binary alone is not sufficient.  RHEL's supported 'sudo' is distributed as a package.)

    Regards

    Bhawana

  • Hello Abhishek,

In addition to the sudo package being installed, please let us know if each of the three nodes has the exact same root password on each node.

    Thanks,
    Rory
  • Hi Bhawna/Rory,

    Thanks for the response.
I have checked on all the 3 nodes , sudo package is there and root password for all the 3 nodes are also same.
  • Hello Abhishek,

Thanks for the update. Can you confirm that ifconfig on all three nodes returns the correct IP addresses?

Also, can you send us the contents of the /opt/vertica/log/install.log file for analysis?

    Thanks,
    Rory
  • Hi Rory,

    Thanks!
    Vertica is successfully installed now.
I forgot to take care of the basic necessity like firewall off on the nodes.
After doing this, i was able to successfully installed vertica.

    Thanks,
    Abhishek Khandelwal
  • Hello Abhishek,

Good catch! Glad you were able to resolve with the firewall changes.

    Thanks,
    Rory
