Evaluating Vertica & Ubuntu server version compatibility

My company is phasing out Infobright and I need to find a decent replacement for it. Vertica seems to be a great candidate. One small obstacle is that my company prefers to keep up with the latest versions of software and all our server infrustructure already switched to run Ubuntu Server 16.04. I am very interested to know if there are any pending plans to add support for 16.04 for vertica.

    Hi Yuri:

     

    Thanks for considering Vertica.  We support a wide range of Linux distributions including RHEL, CentOS, Debian, SUSE and Ubuntu.  As you know, we currently have qualified on Ubuntu 14.04LTS and 12.04LTS.

     

    It is in our long term plans to get to Ubuntu 16.04LTS support, however I am not able to provide you with a timeframe.  It is not in the near future. 

     

    If ok, I would suggest starting with Ubuntu 14.04LTS.
