Why does Vertica 7.1 do not support LVM?

As part of a future OBR deployment that come with Vertica 7.1 (see https://docs.software.hpe.com/OBR/10.10/Content/Install.htm) we have a customer that have its Linux environment on LVMs.
We know Vertica 7.1 do not support LVM , but the customer want a justification, can you please help with reasons why we did not support LVM in Vertica 7.1?

Update : OBR uses Vertica 8.0.1.
As of 8.1 Vertica provides LVM support on all supported platforms. See doc here:
