Need help on how vertica is handling LINEFEED in below FIXEDWIDTH file

We've a scenario that is working fine in vertica but erroring our in other system. In a file1 : few rows have line feed(i.e same as record terminator) with in data, Vertica is able to handle it but in other system it's erroring out. Can someone explain how vertica is handling this scenario?

My assumption is: Since its a fixedwidth file and the special char is within the specified record length vertica is treating that as 'with in data' and processing. Is it correct?
