Too many open files error - VJDBC 100176

We're currently seeing the following error: [Vertica][VJDBC](100176) Failed to connect to host XXX on port 5433. Reason: Too many open files Is this an indication of not enough files on the client or the server? I assume client, but want to confirm. Thanks in advance.

    The problem is most likely on the server side. Check the unlimit -n setting as your dbadmin user on the machine running Vertica.

    Thanks, Amy. It appears that the problem was actually on the client side. The ulimit value on our client machine was only 1024; however, each node in our cluster was already at 65536.
